I’m sort of back into the swing of things with the writing. February is coming up and that’s designated as Recharge Your Novel Month. It’s kind of like the NaNo, only instead of getting you to write loads of words, the intent is to help you make a habit out of writing.
The idea is that instead of a word-count goal, you have a time count goal: one hour per day, every day, for the entire month. This helps you build up the habit of writing daily, which in turn improves your productivity and helps you get things done.
The Recharge doesn’t have an official website or anything, it’s just a little thing we do on the Mythic Scribes forums, where I’m a fairly active member (you can find the link here, but access require five posts on the forums, so if you’re not a member already, you probably won’t see it).
Even so, there’s nothing to sign up to. There’s no one checking that you’re doing anything. The Recharge is something you’re doing for your own benefit, so it’s in your own interest to stick with the program.
This is the third year we’re doing this, and it’s been a great help in the past to get the writing year off to a good start (January doesn’t count). I’m looking forward to getting going again. I’m just a little bit concerned that I don’t have a story I’m all that passionate about.
Also, I made a chocolate cake:
…and then I brought it in to work.
Sure, I had two pieces of it myself, but even then I feel the team made good work on it.
